Hyderabad December 2019: Hyderabad city and Telangana state’s business couple honoured in New Zealand Auckland, December 8, 2019
One of the most respected couples in New Zealand from the Telugu community were honoured with a major Award in Auckland, New Zealand recently.

Indra Sirigiri, Director , Link2 Group , Manasa,Director Link2 Group,Attorney General of Fiji Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Manasa and Indra Sirigiri, Directors of the Auckland based Link2 Group of Companies received the ‘Indian Newslink 20th Anniversary Special Award for Business Excellence in Ethics and Compliance’ on December 8, 2019 at SkyCity Convention Centre, Auckland.
The Awards were presented by Attorney General of Fiji Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and New Zealand’s Leader of the Opposition Simon Bridges in the presence of more than 1100 people including Ministers for Finance, Workplace Relations & Safety, Immigration and Ethnic Communities, more than 15 members of Parliament, government officials and industry and business leaders from throughout the country.
Pursuit of Excellence
A citation described Manasa Sirigiri as a ‘visionary,’ and her success has been driven not by academic qualifications but by pursuit of excellence.
Her husband Indra Shekar Sirigiri was described as an inspiring corporate leader who has built a group of companies known for business ethics and dependability.
As the Founder of the Link2 Group, Manasa invested hard work while Indra brought his experience in business both as an employer and an employee to determine the sort of company they wanted Link2 to be- one that works hard for its customers and that treats employees with respect. In later years Rahul Sirigiri the current CEO contributed to the growth of business by way of acquisitions and diversification.
Link2 Services, which is a major part of the Group, including other entities, Link2 Solutions and Stirling Recruitment today employs more than 400 staff about 60% of who are of Indian ethnicity working with about 50 different customers across Auckland. New employees undergo training and an induction programme with a significant focus on health and safety systems as well as the required skills for customer deployment.
Professional approach
It was while working as a logistics manager more than 18 years ago that Mr Sirigiri saw a different way of managing contract labour in this sector. Instead of hiring inexperienced casual staff just on an hourly wage rate, he offered clients a unique model of fixed unit pricing and then supply them with trained staff with an onsite supervisor.
This has been developed as an innovative and result-driven model and Link 2 Services is the only company that provides personnel on unit price basis as well as hourly basis, working onsite of clients and offsite at its own facility. These wide-ranging options have proved to be of benefit to its clients, offering them quality and cost-effective human resources solutions.
Awards and Citations
Over the past 19 years, the Link2 Group has been acknowledged for good governance and management principles in New Zealand.
The Company has won several Awards in the past years, the most significant of which was of Indian Bthe Supreme Business Award of the Year in 2016 presented by then Prime Minister Sir John Key. Other Awards won that year include ‘Best Employer of Choice,’ Business Excellence in Customer Service (2015 & 2016), along with prestigious Westpac Auckland Business Awards (South) in 2017 for Best of the Best Employer of the year and Supreme Business award. Their Son and CEO, Rahul Sirigiri won the Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Indian Newslink Annual Awards twice- in 2013 and 2016.

Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital hosts a mega walkathon for breast cancer awareness

Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital hosts a mega walkathon for breast cancer awareness
-          Mr. Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, MLA, LB Nagar flagged off the rally
Hyderabad, Oct 23, 2019: Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital, LB Nagar today hosted a walkathon in the city, to drive awareness on breast cancer. A yearly initiative from the hospital, this year the rally saw strong involvement from over 150 participants including medical professionals and members of the local community. The rally was flagged off at 7.00 AM from Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital and culminated at Priyadarshini Park near Saroor Nagar Lake. The rally was flagged off by Mr. Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, MLA, LB Nagar in the presence of Mr. M. Srinivasa Rao, Corporator – LB Nagar, Dr. Mervin Leo, Acting COO, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital, LB Nagar and Dr. Karunakar Reddy, GM – Operations, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital, LB Nagar.

Mr. Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, MLA, LB Nagar, said, “Breast cancer could occur in the lives of any of our loved ones. The theme of this awareness campaign, that is, to ‘take charge, get screened’ is a message that has to reach one and all. Men have to play an equally important role in supporting the women in their lives by encouraging them to go in for regular screening and check-ups as advised by the doctors.”

Dr Revanth Gangasani, Senior Consultant, Surgical Oncologist, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital, said “Breast cancer incidence is on the rise not only in urban population but in rural areas too. Our aim as oncologists is to not only treat breast cancer patients but also to create awareness about the disease and educate women that life after breast cancer can be completely normal. The only pre-requisite is that of ‘early detection’ and this is feasible only if women are made aware of screening tests like breast self-examination, mammogram etc. Out of all, annual mammogram after the age of 40 years is considered to be the gold standard. This event is being organized to convey the same message to all women - ‘take charge of your own health; get yourself screened.’”

We should educate ourselves about cancer. This goes a long way in reducing the fear that cancer is the end. A positive attitude and conviction that you are in the path to total recovery is essential in the fight against cancer. Follow your treatment diligently and try to take things in your stride. And once it is successfully treated, go on to live a full and active life. Cancer does not have to define you for the rest of your life. With support from your family and a will to live life, you can win over any difficult situation.

The aim of the walkathon was to emphasize, while early detection and prompt and appropriate treatment is critical, a positive attitude is what will finally get one through the experience.
