Complan Boy and ace Indian cricketer, R. Ashwin unveils the first ever largest Complan Cup in Tamil Nadu and announces the hunt for ‘Complan Kids’

Chennai, 27^th October, 2015: Tamil Nadu’s very own Complan Boy and India’s leading cricketer, R. Ashwin unveiled the first ever largest Complan Cup and announced a city wide hunt for ‘Complan Kids’. This is no simple cup, but the first ever live hoarding on a cup. He invited mothers in Tamil Nadu to send in photographs of their Complan boy/girl and all pictures will be pasted on the cup.

R. Ashwin shared that he is proud to be a Complan Boy because he grew up drinking Complan and that he is delighted that his and Tamil Nadu’s favorite Classic Chocolate flavor is back in Tamil Nadu!

The hunt for ‘Complan Kids’ was initiated with an intention to bring awareness about the importance of a complete nutritious diet for a growing child, especially when children may not finish their meals and thereby end up not getting sufficient nutrition.

Amaravati: Amid fanfare, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid the foundation stone of Andhra Pradesh’s new capital Amaravati at Uddandarayunipalem village in Guntur district.

Union ministers M. Venkaiah Naidu, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Nirmala Sitaraman, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and chief ministers, N. Chandrababu Naidu and K. Chandrasekhar Rao, were among those present on the occasion of ‘shila nyas’ in the village, about 40km from Vijayawada, the commercial hub of Andhra Pradesh.

Modi went around ‘Amaravati Pavilion’, a walk through showcasing evolution of Amaravati, its present and future. Amaravati was once the seat of power of Satavahana rulers. As per a call given by Chandrababu Naidu, soil and water from 16,000 villages in the state and prominent pilgrim centres in the country have been brought to the capital region to be used in the construction of the capital city. The idea is to promote a sense of belongingness among the people, officials said. Singapore government agencies have prepared the master plans for the three-layered capital—seed capital, capital city and capital region.

Naidu invites Telangana CM for Amaravathi foundation ceremony

Hyderabad: The long and bitter spell of political animosity between the chief ministers of the two Telugu States, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao respectively, took back seat for a change when the former called on the latter to extend an invitation for the foundation stone laying ceremony of AP's new capital city -- Amaravathi -- on October 22.

The two leaders, who have been at loggerheads ever since the bifurcation of AP to form Telangana State in June last year, set aside their differences and put on smiles and indulged in friendly banter when Naidu called on KCR, as the Telangana chief minister is known, at his official residence late Sunday evening.

This is the first visit Naidu has made to KCR residence since the bitter political war broke between the two states, and the two have been avoiding bumping into each other even in social functions.

Naidu flew down from Tirupati where he performed his grandson's 'Annaprasana' (first rice feeding) ritual. The one-on-one meeting between the two chief ministers lasted around 55 minutes and saw a lot of friendly banter. The meet comes in the backdrop of the cash-for-votes scam, in which Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy was caught allegedly bribing a Telangana legislator to make him vote for the TDP-BJP combine in the Telangana legislative council elections.

While the TRS accused Naidu of being the chief accused in the scam, releasing an audio tape of his phone conversation with nominated Elvis Stephenson via the media, Naidu hit back claiming that his phone was being illegally tapped by Telangana.Following Naidu's formal invite, KCR promised to attend the Amaravati ceremony, putting to rest speculation that he would not participate in the function in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the chief guest. Several chief ministers from various states, union ministers and senior politicians from different parties are expected to attend the ceremony, which is expected to be an extravaganza with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government leaving no stone unturned to make it a memorable affair.

KCR reportedly informed Naidu that he would drive down to the venue after an overnight stay at Suryapet in Nalgonda district in Telangana, which is close to the AP border. The Telangana CM said he would go first to the famous Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada before making his way to the venue.

Touching upon some of the issues faced by the two States, Naidu told his Telangana counterpart that it would be beneficial for both States if they worked together towards the Amaravati-Hyderabad-Mumbai and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru industrial corridors on par with the Delhi-Mumbai, Bangalore-Chennai-Visakhapatnam and Delhi-Kolkata industrial corridors.

The “Naturralle Vantinti Maharani” contest was preceded by a cookery workshop by the renowned Chef Sanjay Thumma, who interacted with the participants, gave useful cooking tips and demonstrated few of his most popular recipes. The contestants used creativity and prepared healthy and delicious dishes. The participants displayed their exemplary culinary skills, talent and imagination.  Chef Sanjay Thumma with a team of judges evaluated the dishes and crowned the winner and declared “Naturralle Vantinti Maharani”. Chef Sanjay Thumma gave away the prize to the First Naturralle Vantinti Maharani for Hyderabad and applauded SARL for their unique initiative to bring out the culinary talent of Nagole, Hyderabad.

Subba Reddy Stadium. Smt. M. Janaki, Collector, Nellore District and Shri. Anil Kumar, IPS - CEO, Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltdhave unveiled the official Medal and Race T-shirt of the event. 

The Nellore 5K Run is an initiative to promote running as the primary form of fitness.  The event is designed and developed to celebrate the spirit of Nellore. The event which is scheduled for October 11, 2015 is expected to see 2,000+ runners from across the Nellore region and the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Timed 5K Run is a first of its kind running event in Nellore with all participants receiving a RFID chip to measure individual time. People from all walks of life are expected to attend the event and promote the cause of fitness and active lifestyle. The Nellore 5K Run also promotes the environment: this year’s theme is Go Green, Nellore.
