HAPPY WORLD PACKAGING DAY



Hyderabd March25: Since 2012, packaging professionals have started the world packaging day on 24th march to show their respect and dedication to their profession. Packaging professionals are going to celebrate in their respective locations. A day is dedicated for packaging.As you are aware that three years back we have started the World Packaging Day on 24th March to show our respect and dedication to our profession. It gives us immense pleasure to share with u on behalf of packaging professionals, to celebrate world packing day on 24th march. This year we have celebrated the day with a presentation by Director, PCRI, BK KARNA, Manager BALA SWAMY and the culturalactivities by Loyola college students (VENNELA, SHARATH KUMAR, NAVYA) and cake cuttingat somagiguda, PCRI, Hyderabad timing from 5pm to 7.30pm.


BK KARNA, Director, PCRI (Packaging Clinic Research Institute), said, “As a packaging technologist we have got great task of balancing the product requirement without hurting environment. Therefore, we must dedicate ourselves to sustainable and green packaging while optimizing materials used in order to leave behind a better world for our next generation. Growth of packaging industry is a growth indicator of any country economy. It is imperative to create more awareness about different forms of packaging and industry in the society to encourage our youth to take up packaging as a profession.” “We are committed to observe one day as a dedicated day for packaging professionals which would be known as world packing day under the global acceptance of the international packaging community.” The purposes of organization is to encourage the development of packaging technology, science, access and engineering; contribute to the development of international trade; and stimulate education and training in packaging.


World packaging day had initiated in 2012 with the active support of various associations like IIPAA Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), Andhra Pradesh Plastic Manufacturers Association (APPMA), Andhra Pradesh Corrugation Box Manufacturers Association (APCBMA) and various industries.

BK Karna has given the presentation on the importance of world packaging day and role of packaging professionals for society and environment.



Indian packaging industry is currently valued at INR 650 billion (US$13.5 billion) and is expected to grow to INR 825 billion (US$17 billion) by 2016-17.

Innovative Technique of C1-C2 Multi planar Re-alignment &Posterior Fixation

Hyderabad 06 March 2016: Cranio vertebral junction is one of the most important areas in the human being.  The anatomy and the embryological development of the region is very complex. The region is the junction between the brain and the spinal cord. The area can be affected by a variety of disorders and all these disorders will have an impact on the brain and spinal cord.
            Children and young adults are affected by these problems. They have difficulty in walking and many of these unfortunate victims become wheel chair or bed bound. As the condition worsens they also manifest difficulty in breathing and ultimately succumb. Most commonly the C.V.Junction problems arise due to congenital birth defects. Infections like tuberculosis and road traffic accidents can also affect this region. Many children with these problems succumb due to lack of awareness and lack of technology.

            There have been a variety of surgical options to treat these problems. Continuous innovations and refinements in the surgical management have evolved in the last two decades. The state of art technology in the treatment of these abnormalities will be highlighted in this workshop.
            The aim of this continuing medical education programme is to discuss in detail about the cranio vertebral junction problems and also the surgical treatment. A live surgery is being done by eminent neurosurgeon from Chandigarh, Dr.Pravin Salunke. He is a senior faculty at the prestigious PGIMER Chandigarh. He has special interest in this complex field and has done extensive research in cranio vertebral junction anomalies. Around 100 neurosurgeons and spine surgeons from across the country are expected to participate in this workshop.
