For the Dawoodi Bohras, attending the Muharram congregations is a spiritual and educational journey of growth and development.

The community, under the guidance and leadership of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, dedicates these learning sessions to reinvigorating their faith as they navigate the complexities of modern life. The sermons inspire them to seek knowledge in the light of the Holy Quran and to strive to emulate the noble qualities of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) and his family members.

That event is still fondly remembered by older community members as a period that ushered in transformation for Chennai's Dawoodi Bohra community.

"Fifty years feel like a lifetime, yet the memories of Syedna Burhanuddin's visit are as fresh as ever," said Ibrahim Haji, an elder of the community. PUNE GAS CONTINUES ITS NATIONWIDE EXPANSION WITH A FIFTH EXPERIENCE CENTRE, BRINGING MODERN, EFFICIENT, AND REGULATION-COMPLIANT GAS SYSTEMS TO THE HEART OF TELANGANA.

Inaugurated by Café Niloufer’s visionary Chairman, A Babu Rao Garu, the new centre in Hyderabad showcases smart gas innovations that promise savings, safety, and sustainability for commercial users.

Hyderabad, April 21, 2025 : Pune Gas, India’s leading name in commercial and industrial gas systems and solutions, is proud to announce the launch of Telangana’s first dedicated commercial and industrial LPG and Natural Gas systems and solutions Pune Gas Experience Centre in Hyderabad. The centre was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Mr. A Babu Rao, Chairman of Café Niloufer—India’s largest tea café and an icon in the hospitality sector—alongside Mr. Jesal Sampat (Executive Director, Pune Gas), Mr. Bhaven Udeshi (Director of Sales, Pune Gas), and Mr. P Vinay Prakash (CEO of Ignite LPG and Franchise Owner – Pune Gas Experience Centre, Hyderabad).

This marks Pune Gas’ fifth Experience Centre in India, reaffirming the company’s commitment to deeper regional outreach and wider accessibility. Strategically located in Hyderabad, the Experience Centre is designed to meet the dynamic needs of Telangana’s burgeoning hospitality, food service, and commercial sectors.

Where Innovation Meets Efficiency: A Glimpse Inside the Experience Centre

The newly launched centre provides an immersive, hands-on look at cutting-edge gas solutions, with a spotlight on:

LPGenius : The world’s first Smart LPG System, proudly Made in India and installed in thousands of commercial kitchens and industrial setups across the country. LPGenius enables commercial users to eliminate common inefficiencies such as cylinder freezing and sweating, dramatically improving operational output and fuel optimization. The system supports the use of LOT (Liquid Off-Take) 47.5 kg cylinders, a far more efficient alternative to traditional 19 kg cylinders.

With proven savings of 20–30% on LPG costs, LPGenius is becoming the go-to system not just for efficiency, but for compliance as well—especially as environmental regulations tighten in response to India’s declining air quality.

FuelFusion : A revolutionary dual-fuel kit that enables diesel generator sets to run on a combination of LPG and diesel, significantly reducing diesel dependency and lowering CO₂ emissions.

LeakCheck – A sophisticated gas leak detection system built with modern aesthetics and precision engineering, designed to protect both people and property across industrial and commercial premises.

From basic components to state-of-the-art vaporizer systems, the Hyderabad Experience Centre enables customers to find comprehensive solutions, tailored guidance, and complete clarity on system selection—all under one roof.

Meeting the Energy Challenge Head-On

India consumed 30,916 TMT of LPG in FY 2022–23, with only 16% attributed to industrial and commercial sectors. The rest continues to rely heavily on traditional fossil fuels such as diesel, furnace oil, kerosene, and even wood—fuels that are inefficient and polluting.

Telangana alone accounts for over 1.16 lakh industrial and commercial LPG customers, and Andhra Pradesh for 1.41 lakh+. Yet many of these users still face avoidable challenges like LPG cylinder freezing, which can result in a daily loss of 3–4 kg of LPG per cylinder.

Pune Gas’ flagship systems, especially LPGenius, offer a powerful solution to this problem. By ensuring optimum vaporization and flow, and supporting the adoption of LOT cylinders, LPGenius helps users improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase margins—all while embracing a cleaner, smarter fuel.

Poultry India Urges Indians to Prioritize Protein Intake on World Protein Day

Encouraging Healthier Diets with Eggs and Chicken to Combat Widespread Protein Deficiency

Hyderabad February 2025 : On the occasion of World Protein Day to be celebrated on February 27, Poultry India, the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) are raising awareness about India’s alarming protein deficiency and advocating for affordable, high-quality protein sources like chicken and eggs.

Despite protein being a fundamental building block of the human body, studies indicate that 73% of Indians suffer from protein deficiency, and 17% of the population struggles with underweight issues. This nutritional gap has serious health implications, including impaired growth, weakened immune function, and increased risk of chronic diseases.

According to the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), the recommended daily protein intake is 0.8-1g per kg of body weight, with an additional 20-30g per day advised for physically active individuals.

Fortunately, eggs and chicken provide an accessible and cost-effective solution to this deficiency. One medium egg contains 6g of protein, making it an ideal, nutrient-rich food for daily consumption. Chicken is another lean, high-quality protein source, packed with essential nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins.

“Many Indians prioritize carbohydrates over protein, mistakenly equating a full stomach with good health," said Uday Sing Bayas, President of Poultry India/IPEMA. "However, protein is essential for tissue repair, enzyme and hormone production, and overall immunity. Prioritizing protein-rich foods like poultry and eggs can significantly improve national health outcomes."

Noted nutritionist Pooja Makhija emphasized the importance of integrating eggs and chicken into daily diets. "I recommend consuming at least 5-6 eggs per week and incorporating chicken regularly to meet essential protein requirements," she advised.

With poultry farming in India adhering to best practices, consumers have access to safe, affordable, and high-quality protein sources. This World Protein Day, Poultry India urges everyone to make protein a priority, make informed dietary choices, and help bridge the nation’s nutritional gap.

For more information on the benefits of poultry and its role in a balanced diet, visit Poultry India’s official website.

Message from IPEMA President:
Mr. Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA/ Poultry India, emphasized the growing importance of the poultry industry in India:
On behalf of over a million poultry farmers across India, IPEMA appeals for urgent governmental support to sustain and strengthen the poultry sector, a cornerstone of India's food security, rural employment, and nutritional welfare. The poultry industry, contributing an annual Rs. 1.35 lakh crores and providing essential protein to millions, faces severe pressures due to escalating input costs, especially for feed ingredients like maize and soya, compounded by GST burdens on soya meal and poultry equipment. Immediate policy interventions are needed to stabilize prices, ensure affordable feed, and enable fair access to credit, particularly by expanding priority sector lending thresholds. We advocate for exemptions from GST on soya meal and processing machinery to ease financial strain, along with increased Rabi maize cultivation and controlled corn imports for ethanol production to stabilize feed costs.
To enhance resilience, we also urge fast-tracked vaccine import protocols to combat animal diseases, alongside nationwide support for egg inclusion in school meal programs to address child malnutrition. The industry’s competitiveness on a global stage requires dedicated “Focus Sector” status to support exports to high-demand markets, which would elevate India’s role as a leading exporter of poultry products.
We urge a balanced approach that considers India’s unique needs and the contributions of its poultry sector, while looking forward to opportunities that will allow us to support India’s food security goals, enhance farmer welfare, and foster sustainable practices.
“We are delighted to invite the global poultry community to the 16th edition of Poultry India Expo 2024. This year’s event will spotlight over 400 exhibitors from across 50+ countries, representing various sectors from across various sectors, including breeding, pharmaceuticals, and animal health. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Hyderabad as we work together to shape the future of the poultry industry."
