New State of Art Operation Theatre Complex at Aakar Asha Hospital

Offers better facilities and tertiary care for the patients of reconstructive surgery

Hyderabad, 14th August 2015: Aakar Asha Centre for Enablement of Physically Disabled (formed

under the N. Swain Memorial Trust) today opened its modern operating theatre Complex - Phase 1

dedicated to emergency Reconstruction Surgery. This facility will enable the team of dedicated

surgeons at Aakar Asha hospital to respond more rapidly and completely to the requirement of

patients in need of reconstructive surgery. Sri C Laxma Reddy, Honorable Health Minister, Govt of

Telangana inaugurated the New Operation Theatre Complex at Aakar Asha Hospital, Kukatpally,

Hyderabad, today.

The state of art operation theatre facility has 3 Micron Hepa Filter Laminar flow air conditioning to

ensure asepsis and will cater to reconstructive surgery for the poorest of the poor. This facility has

been supported by the Hyderabad Race Club.

Honorable Health Minister, Shri C Laxma Reddy, appreciated the work done by Aakar Asha hospital

in improving the life of the physically disabled people and emphasized the government’s

commitment to help the physically disabled, especially those below the poverty line and to extend all

possible cooperation for such initiatives.

Dr. Bharatendu Swain, the Director and Managing Trustee of Aakar Asha Centre of Physically

Disabled said, “We realized the need of this dedicated Operation theater for reconstructive

procedures. The state of art new facility would provide the best available equipment to the team of

surgeons at Aakar Asha to ensure better care and health care services to the poor and

underprivileged. We are grateful for the support towards this project from the partners and our

donors.”

Aakar Asha hospital, a unit of the N Swain Memorial Trust, is dedicated to Reconstructive Surgery

and Physical Rehabilitation of persons with birth deformities, trauma related problems, burns and

burns related deformities and benign swellings, of the entire body. A large proportion of surgeries

are done free of cost for the poor who cannot afford the otherwise prohibitive cost of treatment.

About Aakar Asha Hospital

Aakar Asha is located in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. After 12 years of its functioning in which about 600

physically disabled persons were operated upon in camps and more than 300 young doctors trained

in surgical skills, the Aakar Asha hospital was launched.

The hospital is 130 beds with 56 beds operational. It is fully equipped with a Diagnostics facility,

modern operation rooms (with operating microscope, power drills, etc). ICU, ER area, Rehab facility,

etc.

Karimnagar, August 10th 2015:  Saraiwwalla Agrr Refineries Limited (SARL) crowned the                    
“Naturralle Vantinti Maharani of Karimnagar” at an event organized to identify the best culinary

talent of Karimnagar at Manair Garden, Ashok Nagar, Karimnagar. The “Naturralle Vantinti

Maharani” contest was preceded by a cookery workshop by the renowned Chef Sanjay Thumma,

who interacted with the participants, gave useful cooking tips and demonstrated few of his most

popular recipes. The event received fantastic response from the ladies who were seen having a great

time interacting with Chef Sanjay Thumma.

The contestants used creativity and prepared healthy and delicious dishes.  The participants

displayed their exemplary culinary skills, talent and imagination.  Chef Sanjay Thumma with a  team

of judges evaluated the dishes and crowned the winner and declared   “Naturralle Vantinti

Maharani of Karimnagar 2015”. Smt. M Neetu Kumari Prasad, IAS, District Collector, Karimnagar

graced the occasion and crowned the First Naturralle Vantinti Maharani of Karimnagar and applauded

SARL for their unique initiative to bring out the culinary talent of Karimnagar.

SARL also announced the winners of Naturralle Gold Fest and distributed the gold coins to the 23

winners from the Karimnagar district.

GANGAVARAM PORT CONDUCTS MEGA MEDICAL CAMP

Gajuwaka, 10^th August,2015: Gangavaram Port Limited today organized a Mega medical camp for the local community people in the surrounding area. The camp was conducted at Nadupuru High School, Peda Gantyada Mandal, Visakhapatnam and was inaugurated bySri Palla Srinivasa Rao, M.Tech, MBA, Hon’ble MLA, Gajuwaka Assembly Constituency  in the presence GPL staff.  The campaign was supported by a team of 12 Expert doctors with multi specialties and Gitam Dental College team. The initiative was a part of Gangavaram Port Corporate Social Responsibility program which has been specially designed to bring an improvement in the society. The health camp provided free treatment and medication to the locals and created awareness about the prevention techniques for a better living.

The camp which started from 10:00am onwards had a well qualified panel of doctors to examine the patients. The participants at the camp went through a systematic process of checkups followed by preliminary diagnosis and consultation by the doctors. The camp received a tremendous response from the villagers. The villagers appreciated the GPL management gesture and expressed their gratitude for a successful execution of the camp.  Total 609 persons were given treatment and distributed medicines for free of cost. Total 12 specialized doctors and Gitam Dental College team had given their valuable services.

Commenting on the initiative, Sri D.T.Naik, Director (Corporate Affairs) Gangavaram Port Limited said, “The free camp services are especially offered to the needy patients who cannot afford quality healthcare services. This camp is organized as a part of our social development program to ensure well being of our neighbourhood. We aim to improve the health of the general public & help to reduce the prevalent diseases in the city by providing medical services to the people in our surrounding villages.”   Also Sri G Brahmaiah, Director (Strategy & Planning), Sri V Janardhana Rao, Director (Operations) and Sri.
