International Day of Persons with Disabilities was started in 1992 by the United Nations. Persons with disabilities, often face disintegration in all the aspects of society. They do not have equal access to society or services, including education, employment, health care, transportation, political participation or justice. This day is aimed to promote understanding of the disability related issues and render support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
MAA Group (MAA ENT Hospitals, MAA Research Foundation, MAA Multi Rehabilitation Institute and MAA Institute of Speech and Hearing) is working to help poor patients with Hearing and Speech disability since 20 years. Understanding the need of society MAA Group has expanded its services to the rehabilitation of patients with various types of disabilities. “Promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership” is the theme for International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2019. The theme is focused on the empowerment of persons with disabilities for their overall development. Approximately 5% of the total population in India is suffering from one or the other type of disability. It is, therefore very necessary to honor this event and to get people aware about the people with disabilities. In doing so MAA Group is organizing “Awareness Walk” on Disability from KBR Park to MAA ENT Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad at 7:00 am on 3rd of December, 2019. MAA Group appeals every resident of Hyderabad to join us for “Awareness Walk” on Disability to respect this noble cause.
